We are delighted to welcome you to the biggest gathering of Military Engineers in Europe. As the threat in combat theatres continues to change, the role of the military engineer is constantly evolving. Mobile and intelligent enemies operating within complex counter-insurgency environments are providing a huge array of challenges to Armed Forces and in particular military engineers. In this era of persistent conflict and change, engineers must now be multi-skilled in a variety of roles (supporting maneuverability, facilitating mobility, providing force protection and reducing enemy threats) to successfully meet the critical needs of today’s operational battlegroups.
